HVAC System for Pharmaceutical Factories
In the validation process for HVAC systems at pharmaceutical factories, a particularly time-consuming operation is testing for integrity of HEPA filters of uni-directed airflow clean booths. Taikisha's Validation BoothTM automates this test. By speeding up the operational qualification, it shortens the amount of time production activities must be suspended for testing, thereby contributing to lower manufacturing costs.
Structure of the Validation BoothTM System
<Comparison with manual operation>
Precise probe scanning
When conducting filter integrity tests, a probe must be moved across the filter at a set speed, which is difficult to precisely gauge by hand. An accurate automatic test can be done using a small robot in the Validation Booth.
Free traveling of miniature testing robot
In 1998, Taikisha reduced the size and weight of its test robot. The robot can be completely inserted above lighting fixtures and operate in narrow spaces. In addition to moving straight ahead, the machine can move in L- and bracket-shaped (]) patterns to cover the entire ceiling.

Accurate, consistent measurement results
When measurements are carried out manually, errors caused by worker fatigue or unintentional variations in probe movement speed inevitably occur. The validation booth's automatic testing guarantees reproducible, high-stability precision measurements. Furthermore, the precise location of leaks, which are difficult to pinpoint in a manual inspection, can easily be located with personal computers.

Speedy, accurate data processing and report generation
By combining data processing and robot control software, large volumes of inspection data can quickly be sorted into categories, greatly reducing the amount of time needed to prepare reports.
